As we know, cannonical has released Ubuntu 12.10 quantal quetzal for desktop and server. The both now ready to download from official ubuntu site. It is completely free to download and install and offers a fast, free, and secure. Ubuntu server 12.10 bundled with kernel 3.5.5, inclusion of the latest OpenStack release (“Folsom”) and support for UEFI Secure Boot. For details on all features, please refer to the Release Notes from Canonical.
In this guide I will cover the installation Guide of Ubuntu Server 12.10 Quantal Quetzal 64-bit version from a LiveCD. The installation of other ubuntu server versions including 32-bit will be very similar to this guide. I will try to explain certain options and provide helpful hints along the way.
Before begin installation you need to download ubuntu server 12.10, then burning it in to CD/DVD

Step-by-Step Installing Ubuntu Server 12.10
Step 1. Boot your machine with Ubuntu Server 12.10 Installation CD/DVD,USB or ISO then Select your language and click the “Install Ubuntu Server”
Step 2. Select the location where you live, if not in the list, select Other (Note: the location where you live can affect time zone)
Step 3. Select No if you want to select the keyboard layout manually or Yes if you want the system to detect your keyboard layout
Step 4. Configure your network
Step 5. Type the hostname for your Ubuntu Server (Note: hostname can not use spaces, if you want to use two words, replace spaces with an underscore [ _ ])
Step 6. Type the username and password Ubuntu Server 12.10 (recommended beginning with a lowercase letter)
Step 7. Encrypt your home directory. if you want encrypt answer [ yes ]. if not select [ No ]
Step 8. Setting up the Clock
Step 9. Partition Hardrive. in this case I will using partitioning method “Manual”
Select Free Space partition
Select the Create new partition to create a new partition and manually adjust capacity
Create Partition for SWAP : 1024 MB
Set SWAP as Logical Partition
Set Location SWAP partition: Beginning
Set Partitions as SWAP
Select Done setting up the partition to complete the configuration
Create Partiton again. previously we had to create a partition for the swap. Now you proceed to create the / boot, / home and / (root)
Finally, the partition that you created would like this. Make sure root (/) partition set as primary not logical. then Select
[Finish partitioning and write to disk ]
Select Yes to save the configuration disk partition and begin the process of partitioning
Step 10. Installing the system
Step 11 . Install Security Updates
Step 12. Select the Apps server that will be installed on ubuntu server 12.10
Step 13. Installing GRUB boot loader on a hard disk, answer [yes] if you want to install it.
Step 14. Installing Ubuntu Server 12.10 is complete, restart your machine to run Ubuntu Server 12.10
Step 15. Ubuntu Server 12.10 is ready for use. Enter your Username and Password to begin using Ubuntu Server 12.10 Quantal Quetzal
